DOOM SnapMap From UAC to Hell Prol. v. 1.6.5
2Ok, like you know - I write analisys for maps. So) Maybe you want to know what I can say about my own map?
Will try, this is my own map, but need to objective here too. I will begin:
"Design" - you alone marine, get to your workplace. It's your first day. You got a pistol, hm, maybe you new security. You happy, UAC, wou! Go to work, and... something with light, heh, UAC on Mars, maybe it's only technical fault, in few hours will fix this. Go forward and...
Oh shit! Smells like!... Blood everywhere! Dead guy, everywhere blood. What a Hell happend here?!
In few second, all in this place blowing up! Oh man! Sparks, fire, equipment broke and spawn two creatures. What a Hell?! Who is this?! You got a pistol, what you can do? Shoot! ... It's employers! You need info about situation. Doors locked, you only hope that terminals is working...
So, about what I talking? Imagine, you don't know anything about UAC and Doom. It's your first expirience. Feel this? I feel.
Ok, about desing - everywhere broken equipment. Blood in walls, in PC's, other equpment, on ceiling you see dead employers in guts, biomass, dead elites and security with weapons and ammo/HP/armor. Author want to create creepy atmosphere, horror. It's UAC on Mars, no where to go, it's invation of demons. What you expected? Demons don't want to invite you for tea - they want to kill, eat! Do not expect mercy!
Alse you can see in video and if you want more - save in your PC/Xbox/PS4 and look with editor.
So, rates. For this rate is 9.5/10. Heh, you expected 10/10?)) No, no, no) Even this my map, I want to be objective. Some decales similar, some places similar too. Maybe this map deserve 10/10, but I don't think so. Yes, in map over 100 statics, 2500 decales (maybe some invisible, it was).
"Gameplay" - if you want to play survival horror - you are not at the address. This map created after "From UAC to Hell", now it's "v. 1.8.5c". There was two weapons (shotgun and a. rifle) and grenede. You in first time meat cacos, revenants and other. You only know pinkys, hell lazers, imps, security, zombies. In this map only this one. And you meat with them, in first time.
Like I sad in "Design" - you alone marine, it's your first day. You got only pistol. So, you need find more powerfull weapon and demons don't let you do this - they will hunt you. For what C4? Will know in next maps.
Only this one of demons. So, you need to kill'em. There will be no mercy. All doors locked, then you find info and need to run - lifesupport systems malfunction, need to reboot. For this you need call elevator - 3 min, oh shit! Demons are here!
You kill'em and get to room of lifesupport - all dead. You reboot and... BAM! Broken! 5min and 15 second you have, before lifesupport will disable and you will die. Time to run! Demons don't let you escape!
So, my rate is 9.5/10. I know, it's fun, but only few demons, all repeats. However, in this map random. Can spawn 40 demons, can 80. It's give to you new expirience.
"Atmosphere" - like I sad before - "all dead, elites, security, employers". Blood everywhere, brocken equipment. Was fight, but this fight we, human, fail. All doors closed, lifesupport malfunction, lights malfunction and others. What you expected? No one to support systems, reactor too. From where you wait normal lights, "new" equipment, clean areas? It's Doom. Not walking in park zone. It's cruel atmoshpere, fast movement. Why blocken equipment? - Fights, elites or security can hit to this or demons broke. Lights, life suuport? - Who supports this? Ghosts or brownie? No guys, it's must be like this.
And who sad that marine can't talk?! In this map and others in this serias can! And how? He have own character, sometimes he angry, sad, fun. His jokes, very specific.
So, my rate is 9.5/10. No, not 10, it's very difficult to create so good atmosphere, for now. I hope that "for now".
"Fun factor" - who don't want to kill demons? Who don't want to explore area to find secrets and watch how atmosphere and design created? Who don't like character of marine? Jockes and other? If you like it - this map for you. I like it, and it's cool.
So, my rate is 9.5/10. Can't give 10 of 10 for all categories. Maybe it's "we see this probs" or modules" or "decales" and others. It's not be honest. But we not guilt that probs and other similar in all maps. However, it's now reason to say - "it's 10/10, because author tryed hard" or "What we can did? Very little of opportunities". Again - it's not a reason.
Avarage rate - 9.5/10. 10/10, yeah? Because my map? No, no and no. I give for my map 9.5, mostly highest. Why? Explaine - it's not first version, I get expirience in SnapMap, get Upload for SnapMap - upload map.
