đ„ Doom The Dark Ages Chapter 16 The Kar'Thul Marshes đ„
The KarâThul Marshes are a festering wound in the worldâdrenched in green fog, half-swallowed by decay, and teeming with demonic corruption. The Slayer presses deeper into the mire, his path driven by one purpose: reach Thira before itâs too late.
To open a gateway back into the Cosmic Realm, the Slayer must recover two ancient Relic Fragments, buried deep within this rotting swamp. But the marsh doesn't give up its secrets easily. With its wide, branching paths and twisting layout, this chapter demands keen eyes and brutal efficiency. Itâs a hunterâs groundâand the Slayer is both predator and prey.
As you tear through demons in the muck, keep watch for what the swamp tries to hide: five secret areas, a hidden lore codex, and a forgotten toy, remnants of a world that once had hope. Every step forward is a step deeper into rot... and into destiny.
You wanted war, demons? Now youâve got it.

The Dark Ages is single only.[2] Its gameplay is slower than that of Doom Eternal and has been compared to the original Doom in that most of the combat takes place on the ground. The player is able to ride dragons and pilot Atlans.[3] It has been stated that the game's campaign will be larger than any previous entry.[2]
Exploration plays a role in the game. While The Dark Ages features linear combat sections, there are also wide open areas. The player will end up returning to areas they have previously fought through to explore them.[3]
Glory kills will return,[4] and the game features a parry system.[5] For the first time in the series, the Doom Slayer will fight alongside friendly NPCs.[6]
The Dark Ages features difficulty sliders for its gameplay. The sliders will allow players to change the speed of gameplay, alter projectiles' speed and damage, change enemy aggression, and make their Slayer and enemies take more or less damage per hit.[7]
Plot
The Dark Ages is a prequel to the 2016 Doom reboot.[1] According to reports, the game features the Doom Slayer being transported to Argent D'Nur, and will show his integration into Argenta society.[8][9] The game will not conclude with the Doom Slayer being sealed away (as seen in Doom 2016), and has been hinted to be the start of a "Medieval arc" for the Doom Slayer.[6] It has been confirmed that more Doom games will follow The Dark Ages.[10]
The game has been described as "darker, grittier, and more cinematic" compared to Doom Eternal.[3] The game's narrative will have a larger role compared to previous entries, which will unfold mainly in cutscenes. While players will still be able to read item descriptions to uncover more of the story's lore, there will be no expectation to do this, and the narrative can be fully understood and digested purely from the cutscenes alone.[11]
