0https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/combos/wwhcdiaz Ah.. 2008, Doom was 15 years old and some of the worst games of the late 2000's were released this year, This year's Cacoawards were started with something called "This is my Boomstick", It was here that a weapon mod by WildWeasel, Zdoom forums administrator was mentioned.. Diaz Last Hours of Purity, A spectacular weapon mod that i play on a regular basis, It wasn't a winner or runner up but being mentioned should tell you just how important Diaz is.
Unlike his other mods, WildWeasel's Diaz has a story to it's name:The RCPA or Research Crimes Prevention Agency is investigating the UAC, Union Aerospace Corporation over it's morally wrong experiments in Portal and Demon technology, Agent Diaz and Agent Herenendez are sent to blast their way through whatever wad you use with some of the most unique features in a weapon mod I've seen.
All weapons require a reload key which is ok, I can deal with that as it used the key I use for Brutal Doom, Trailblazer etc, The weapon you start with a pistol that needs to be reloaded at the beginning, You also have kicks and karate chops, Each weapon you walk over uses it's own ammo so that's a nice touch, A weapon mod system, Something that pre-dates Call of Duty is...Eh ok? The difficulty settings don't really affect you much unless you select "Weapon mods are for noobs", That makes the mod behave like nightmare mod, A nice touch, It feels pretty solid and it's good, It's a shame it was not honored with a Cacoaward.
