Dos Madness | Dune 1 (Intro Comparison | Floppy vs CD)
2Here is a comparison of those two intros ... well those two games are quite different ... if you ask me
The floppy version was an experience based on the Book with a mix of strategy and adventure, a game you will never forget ... like today's next gen crap that charm you with visuals... that will be dated so fast you dont bother playing those titles in X years later...
The CD version on the other hand was (4:00 starts the CD intro)... more like a remastered David Lynch movie , with better music , Voice acting SO GOOD you forget about all glitches... and cutscenes taken from the movie ... you could say they redesigned the hell out of this version ... from Pre-rendered desert , to backgrounds ... its like a ultimate version of all
But now the thing is ... those two games are quite different ... one follows the book story , the other the movie script with its cut scenes taken from it
Before the Meme "Mention Deus Ex and someone will install it" ... this game was like it ... mention it , and we will install it ... after it , it was Dune 2 ... but sadly the adventure aspect was missing from it (and memorable music... only game design that defined the RTS stayed)...
Like Lost Eden , Cryo Dune was another masterpiece that showed the world that Stéphane Picq knew how to compose great music .
