Dos Madness Longplay | HardLine (1996) The Most overhyped FMV Shooter by Cryo
37Hardline a #Cryo game, that had a lot packed into it... and over hyping it to extremes ,was one of its features ... promoted as the only Interactive Game you should have, back in 1996 ... the golden years of PC #DOS gaming, when all games jumped on the CD-Rom format embracing it with #FMV or republishing old games with CD-Audio , Voice Overs or Movies ... or just remaking them ...
So the question here is ... was this game any good , ehmm ... no , its brutally broken in many parts forcing you to save at any free moment ... or restart from CD1 ... even if your on CD 3 ... 2h in ...
If you ask, what is this game all about ... well, its a mix of a FMV rail shooter with basic adventure sections ... something like "Urban Runner" from Coktel Vision\Sierra was but more broken ... you know what I like to say about Cryo games "Each of them are unique ,but broken"
If you ask about the length of this game, well... it all depends on you, since it action sections are hard and random as fuck (in later stages) ... making you die so many times ... you kinda just want to skip those , but you can't ... since they are them game ... so if your LUCKY and the algorithm will give you health kits, you can beat this game under 3h ... if not 2 to 3 days... of rage
and now the reason why I play this , again (since most of the time i don't replay games)... I finished this back in 2006 on a Winxp machine using VMDsound to trick XP to play this Dos game ... since no matter want I did.. I could not make it boot in DOS ...Later learned this game has Problems with S3Trio 2mb cards in pure DOS... and Winxp in some odd way could boot this game... and in one day, I beat it under 3h ... yeah , what a let down it was... since every Cryo game back in its Golden Days of Fame, gave you a week+ ... so you would think a 3CD game would be longer ... and now , we are Here ... in 2020 ... was working , when suddenly ...out of the blue ... i hear a song in the radio, a tune known to my ears ... a remixed song ... that tune ... buzzed in my brain ... and my inner voice said "HARDLINE , its from HARDLINE" ... "YOU HAVE TO PLAY HARDLINE" pushing in my mind the trailer for it ... that was on EVERYTHING (every gaming cover cd) hyping this game to extremes
So now we are here ... was checking out who played it and, well only Einokeino303 played it with World-of-Longplays mirroring the video... but those have Scan-Lines that look great on a CRTV , but on a Digital screen not so much... so why not place my Editing skilz to the test and un-scan-line it and place it on YT ... so , Hi there and Welcome to "HardLine the most over hyped FMV Railer Shooter from 1996"
