[DOS][OPL2] The Treehouse - Title Screen Theme (Broderbund Software)
This is an example of how even educational software for kids can have unique game music. Here we have a great funky rhythm, and game credits list for sound and music:
Jonelle Adkisson
Michael Barrett
Tom Rettig
Joey Edelman
This is the same music team that had an epic impact on gaming by being the composers of Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?, one of the most influential games of all time as a game that millions of kids in the 80s and 90s played even in classrooms.
The VGM and MobyGames lists "Michael J. Ilnicki" as the composer of title theme, but I conjecture that it seems to have been a sung children's song called "Hangin Out at the Treehouse" and the composers listed above have converted into the game. https://www.discogs.com/release/23443427-Up-The-Street-Beat-Hangin-Out-At-The-Treehouse Maybe the cassette was included with some boxed copies of this game?
The music here was actually kind of tricky to try to "remaster" and make sound less shrill without making it too dull. Credit goes to VGM author "tails" for making the music easily accessible.
