This is a comparison video of different Graphic rendering options and which settings are best for dota. i ran one by one and first of all OpenGL is excluded it gave 30 FPS on low graphics.

my own gameplay settings are shown in the video aswell

Directx9: it was fast to load and lesser quality and huge frame drops.
Directx11: Good quality graphics requires alot of hardware power and good FPS.
VULKAN: Best smooth gameplay experience and does not put much load on hardware.

Conclusion: these modes are there in dota for a reason, because different graphic cards support different types of rendering. so first check which rendering option suits your system. i would suggest use my settings and lower the quality if you have vulkan then use it if not then go with directx 11.
