Down the well - Branch Plays Pokemon Soulsilver (nuzlocke) episode 3
Continuing Pokemon Soulsilver, going through Union Cave and dealing with Team Rocket at the Slowpoke Well today (I chose SoulSilver because I always play Gold and Silver has exclusives I'd hopefully like to use)
Note - I recorded this back in December/January because I wanted to play more Pokemon after finishing Emerald
Basic rules
- Catch the first Pokemon on each route
- Pokemon dies if it faints
- Nicknames for each Pokemon (if I can't think of a good one I'll skip it and name it later though)
- No items in battle
- I can reencounter if I encounter something I already have
- Shinies can be caught regardless of if I've already got an encounter in the area
- Allowing myself Switch battle style
What's been changed from the normal game?
- Some evolutions have been made easier such as trade ones being via level up
- Trainer levels are boosted by 10%
- Starters are randomised but still a 3 stage evolution (The rival is meant to carry their starter throughout so if I've done it right it should evolve over time too and not default back to whatever Johto starter it would be)
- Field items randomised
- Secondary marts randomised
- Pokemon offered for in game trades are randomised but not the pokemon you have to give
- Static Pokemon and legendaries randomised
- TMs randomised but compatibility is normal
Additional rules
- I have a level cap which is the normal level of each leader's ace. As for the Elite 4 I haven't decided yet but I'll probably just say a cap of 48
- Enemy trainer's Pokemon are forced to final evolution past level 40
- I will allow myself 1 rock smash encounter for the entire game
- I will allow myself 1 encounter for the roaming legends regardless of where I encounter them
- Legendary Pokemon are allowed. However I'm only allowed 1 on the team at a time and it counts as 2 Pokemon so I'd be allowed a maximum team of 5 if I get and choose to use one
- Whenever possible at least half of my team must be Pokemon that originated in Johto (I try to keep to this one but might forget about it from time to time)
