By galloping with your horse you can hit both the trigger of the tickington npc, and the going past it into the guard pass trigger, thereby queue up both prompts. This means you can give the guard the pass (which typically should require going through the whole tickington 2d section), and then just save/reload and the game assumes you already finished tickington.
