This is a speed run attempt on Jekyll: Houma Ga Toki, the Japanese Famicom version of the somewhat infamous NES game, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

In this run, I go for the "Hyde" ending, which involves Mr. Hyde reaching the end of the game before Dr. Jekyll. I'm considering making a separate upload for the commentary on this run as well.

To give a VERY brief explanation fo the game mechanics, you play as Dr. Jekyll. Various factors give Jekyll "stress" and lower his meter. When it reaches the bottom, you become Mr. Hyde. Mr. Hyde goes through the exact same stages as Jekyll, but if he passes Jekyll before the final stage, it's game over.

...Yeah, that's just how complicated this game is.

The Japanese version is considerably harder than the US version and features two different stages and a few npcs that don't exist in our version.

This is an emulated, but (pretty clearly =P) not tool-assisted run. Just one of my better standard attempts. There's still quite a hefty number of optimizations I could make to improve this in the future.
