According to Otto, the DF lacks authentic grassroots legitimacy and serves as a diversionary tool aimed at fracturing opposition unity and diluting NUP’s influence. He asserts that despite its calculated emergence, the DF’s mission is ultimately destined to fail, as the Ugandan electorate is increasingly politically conscious and resistant to covert maneuvers designed to destabilize genuine democratic opposition.
