Dragon Age: The Veilguard Could Damage RPGs Going Forward
Simply using our eyes, it's pretty obvious at this point that The Veilguard is unlikely to be a success in any meaningful away. In fact, if money was on the line I'd be betting failure for it at this point.
Unfortunately, as we've seen with Concord, the clowns defending this game will be using every trick in the book to try and handwave any and all criticism of the DEI infested characters/overall design because they're scared that it'll impact their political movement negatively.
As we're seeing with Concord, these people are trying to blame market conditions for the reason these games are failing, suggesting in Concord's case that there's a lack of interest in Hero Shooters as an example. They will do exactly the same with The Veilguard, we'll hear about how RPG fans can never be pleased, there's a lackof interest in the genre post BG3 etc. it'll be any excuse, at the detriment of gaming and the genre purely to hide the weaknesses of their political views.
Fortunately, people are being very loud in their dislike of this game's direction and tone so hopefully no one listens to them.
