Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 2 (PS2) - Any% Speedrun in 45:30 [World Record]
68This run wasn't the one I wanted, so I'll definitely keep grinding at some point for it.
In the Any% speedrun, you start with every character's default equipment capsules. The goal at the start is to hopefully find 2-3 capsules that can be universally equipped on all characters for a large percentage boost in your attack damage. Optimally, these would be Viral Heart Disease (to drain enemy HP during the fight passively), Rage!! for damage boost, and Super Kami Water for damage as well. Unfortunately I only managed to get two of these capsules, VHD and Rage!!, making my damage about 20% lower than it should be with the correct setup. Each of those capsules is roughly a 1/12 chance at best to get, meaning the perfect capsule setup is a 1/1,728 chance to get.
Stage 5 and Stage 6 rely on skipping optional fights with Vegeta and Buu which are entirely dependent on the enemy board game piece's AI. It is quite rare to get both skips in one run, and it saves about two and a half minutes together. Luckily I got both skips and was able to clutch this record, even with somewhat bad capsule equipment.
