A vertical scrolling arcade shooter from Psikyo, the same creators of the well known Strikers 1945 series. The game departs from the typical war theme seen in vertical shooters and instead focuses on dragons.

Dragon Blaze features 4 mythical characters to play as, each with their own dragons. The 4 characters are Quaid (The Fire Dragon), Sonia (The Aqua Dragon), Rob (The Thunder Dragon), and Ian (The Skull Dragon).

Besides each character and their subsequent dragon's unique powerful fighting abilities, each character has the ability to dismount their dragon, effectively giving you 2 characters to battle enemies with. The only drawback is that a dismounted dragon cannot move from its current position when dismounted, but the characters movements are still functional.

Players had the ability to call back their dragons to be remounted at any point during game play.
