Previously, Heorot solved the ten puzzles scattered around Khrumbul-Dun. Now, after the upcoming base battle, he will be able to take on the Underseer herself.

After resuming, Heorot speaks to Malroth to start the next base battle (time 0:45). Malroth reminds him that a few more townspeople have chosen to take up arms against the monsters, so Heorot should equip them accordingly.

The base battle begins (time 1:25). It opens up with a wave of Chasmonauts. The second phase features large Morphean Mushrooms and large Chasmonauts. In the third phase, there are Dirty Dogus and Living Statues. The final phase features some Whackolytes and a Green Dragon.

The monsters are eventually defeated (time 3:36). Victory! Now, Heorot and the townpeople can take on Madusa herself.

Before starting the battle, Heorot can talk to Goldirox and begin riding him (time 7:22).

Then, Heorot speaks with Malroth (time 7:55). Time to start the battle.

Afterwards, a cutscene takes place (time 8:44). Madusa, the Stony-Eyed Source of Subterranean Suffering, conjures her battlefield and appears.

Then, the battle begins (time 9:25). As Goldirox says, when Madusa prepares her stony spell, Heorot must direct Goldirox to block it by holding the square button (on the PlayStation 4). If it is done correctly, Goldirox will reflect the beam back at Madusa. Madusa will be turned to stone, and she can be damaged.

Then, Madusa will summon a group of monster minions. Look out for one of her appendages to emerge from the ground and fire stone blasts. After the minions are defeated, Heorot and Goldirox can attack Madusa's appendage. Madusa will emerge from the ground and repeat firing her stony glare. The pattern will repeat.

The pattern changes after Madusa's appendage is defeated again. She will create a tricky double. However, when they charge the attack, the real Madusa will be revealed by her white energy charge. The impostor's charged energy will be purple. The pattern will be similar, but Madusa will summon two groups of minions.

Late in the battle, Madusa will get enraged. She will fire energy from above. To avoid damage, just keep moving. Then, Madusa will summon two doppelgangers.

In the end, Heorot and his allies defeat Madusa (time 16:57). Heorot and Malroth reach Level 20, the current level cap.

Afterwards, Heorot can claim the Heartstone (time 17:35). Lovely! Some dialogue takes place after the battle.

For the next errand, Heorot speaks with Goldirox (time 20:51). Heorot needs to make the Golden Glow at the workbench. He learns how to make the Golden Glow.

At the workbench, Heorot makes the Golden Glow. It requires the Heartstone, a Gold Ingot, a Silver Ingot, and a Copper Ingot.

Then, he delivers the Golden Glow to Goldirox (time 22:36). A bittersweet scene takes place. Metal returns to the mine, the golden age returns to Khrumbul-Dun, and Babs is restored, but at great cost. The mission "Going for Gold" is complete!

In the morning, the main town music from Dragon Quest V takes over.

For the next errand, Heorot speaks with Babs (time 29:25). She wants him to speak with the townspeople and see who wants to come along with him to the Isle of Awakening.

Heorot first speaks to Jules (time 30:09). The odd-speaking Goodybag chooses to stay behind.

Then, Heorot talks to Den (time 31:04). Den will come to the Isle of Awakening.

Next, Heorot speaks with Magrog (time 31:57). Magrog will come along, too.

Afterwards, Heorot talks to Serge (time 32:31). Serge will be remaining in Khrumbul-Dun.

Then, Heorot speaks to Dougie (time 33:11). After some convincing, Dougie agrees to come along.

Heorot next talks to Digby (time 34:32). Digby readily agrees to come along.

Finally, Heorot speaks with Ordelia (time 35:20). She agrees to come back to the Isle of Awakening.

Then, Heorot reports in to Babs (time 36:40). With a little convincing from an old friend, Babs agrees to come to the Isle of Awakening.

After claiming his private bedroom, Heorot leads the group back to the Dock. Next time, they will sail back to the Isle of Awakening.
