I played this game for a bit and I have to say I am liking the part where it scratches that "collector's itch" and hoarding items for apparent no reason than having fun.

And of course, because the art style and character design is by Akira Toriyama.
Honestly I have never played any of the Dragon Quest games before but on my side of the world its a norm to have come across Japanese manga and anime at some point in my childhood.
And yeah, playing JRPG can be quite a long term commitment to some too!

You like this artstyle, and you want a short sprint kinda game, this is the Dragon Quest Title for you.

Dragon Quest Treasures is a 2022 action role-playing game developed by Tose and published by Square Enix for the Nintendo Switch.

The story follows young Erik and Mia who live viking ship dreaming of exploring the world and finding great treasures. One fatidic night, the pair encounters two strange creatures: Purrsula and Porcus. Later, the sibilings are transported into the land of Draconia, where they will need to search for the seven Dragonstones.

Fans of Akira Toriyama (Dragon ball) would find the art style very familiar and endearing, especially when the focus is on the myriad of monster designs. I mean who can forget the cute slime who is the default mascot of this francise!
