Previously, the party took care of Bowgun targets in Deruka Costa and Napugaana Jungle. Now, they will head northeast to Van der Fon to finally continue the story.
After resuming in the Deruka Costa area, the party boards the ship by talking to Alice at the dock (time 2:33). They sail northeast towards Van der Fon.
Along the way, Senya reaches Level 18 (time 3:59). She learns "Zaoraru", or Zing. This has a fifty percent chance to resurrect a dead ally with half health. She also gains 2 skill points for a total of 5.
In the northeast, the party makes landfall at the pier in Van der Fon (time 5:18). They are at the southern end of the region.
In the seaside cabin, a wardrobe contains a Magic Water (time 7:09).
A barrel in the cabin contains 14 Gold (time 7:40).
By the road at the southern end of the main expanse, there is a farming point for Butterfly Wings (time 8:53).
In the southwest, there is a mining point for Iron Ore and Silver Ore (time 9:20).
Also, on one of the southwestern bales of hay, the party snipes their first Bowgun target in the area (time 9:33).
On a windmill by the road, the party finds their second Bowgun target (time 9:55).
After a battle, Sylvia reaches Level 19 (time 11:09). He learns "Bomiosu". I believe this is Deceleratle. He also gains 3 skill points for a total of 5.
In the southeast of the main expanse, there is a farming point for Butterfly Wings (time 12:46).
The camp in this area is the Nerusen Inn outpost (time 14:17). It is a bit more substantial than most camps.
The party checks down the outpost's well (time 14:30). In the southern part of the well, there is a farming point for Gold Ore (time 15:02).
Behind the inn, there are pots containing 30 Gold and a Yousei Blossom (time 16:16).
A priest in the outpost offers a quest (time 16:35). He issues Quest 11: "Guide to Paradise" ("極楽への導き"). He asks the party to defeat an Undead Man in the ruins of Van der Fon at night while under the influence of Senya and Davilas's Renkei, Sacred Prayer. This Renkei buffs the party with increased defense and magic power.
From the pier behind the inn, the party can shoot their third Bowgun target in the area (time 18:31).
A little boy inside the inn itself directs the party north to the town of Grotta. Upstairs, a minstrels sings of a Purple Orb in Van der Fon Kingdom. Hm... Also, a scholar tantalizes the party with talk of a Magic Key.
A bookshelf upstairs contains recipes for steel equipment (time 21:43). The offerings include Steel Sword, Steel Boomerang, and Steel Armour.
A barrel upstairs contains a Strong Medicine (time 22:28).
After checking out the outpost, the party continues exploring the area. Along the river to the northwest, they will find the ruins of Van der Fon Kingdom. Very little is left except for some walls and a couple of vaults. Beware of the HP-sapping poisonous muck.
Down the eastern vault, the party finds a Magic Key door (time 24:51).
Behind a wall, they find a chest containing a Purple Eye (time 25:27).
In the poisonous muck between the two vaults, there is a farming point for Royal Soil (time 25:51).
There is another farming point for Royal Soil in a small pool of poisonous muck southwest of the western vault (time 26:04).
In the western vault, the party finds another door blocked by a magic seal (time 26:11).
On the isthmus to the west, there is a chest containing 1,500 Gold (time 27:08). Passage farther west is blocked by a rockslide.
On the western side of the area north of the river, the party finds their fourth Bowgun target hanging from a tree branch (time 29:17).
On a nearby hill, they find a farming point for Coagulant (time 29:31).
On the back side of a scarecrow in the northeast field, the party finds their fifth Bowgun target for the area (time 29:51).
In the southeast of the area north of the river, the party can shake a tree to acquire Narspicious, Coagulant, and Butterfly Wings (time 30:52).
Back at the Nerusen Inn, the party rests until nighttime (time 31:36). Next time, they will take care of the priest's quest to defeat Undead Men before they head north to the Yugunoa Region.
