With access to swords, shields, daggers, and a bow, the Assassin vocation in dragon's dogma has weapons for days. The Assassin is prepared to handle all foes, human or monster.

Began my journey as a mage from Lv.1-10, then as sorcerer from 11-200. Now my arisen aspires to be more like a stealthy assassin. For augments I recommend Clout, Vehemence, Autonomy, Bloodlust, Sinew, and Damping. You can go with Prescience to make blocking attacks easier, which you'll definitely need when fighting dragons, but definitely consider augments that boost Strength, especially if you leveled magically like I did.

Speaking of magic, you can use the Surging Light tome to deal with those annoying wraiths, as they'll likely be caught in it and "killed" long before they can possess you.

Invisibility actually grants invinsibility in the form of intangibility, but it rapidly drains stamina and ends abruptly. This can be countered with precise timing and liquid vim.
