Dragster [Atari 2600][CompleteTheGame]
The first game made by Activision, and an unauthorized adaptation of the Drag Race arcade game by Kee Games.
It is a really basic and yet so hard game.
You rev your engine with your button and shift by pressing left. Shift too late and you will blow your engine.
In Easy Mode you only need to concentrate on shifting gears while Hard Mode makes your car go right and left, and you must steer it to prevent it from hitting the sides.
You can play by yourself, trying to beat your own record, or with two players.
Once you learn to not blow up your engine all the time, each race should take you below 10 seconds.
...and that is the full game...
In 1982, video gamer Todd Rogers claimed to have set the world record for Dragster with a time of 5.51 seconds. Until January 29, 2018 this claim was accepted by video game record-keeping organization Twin Galaxies, and Guinness World Records, which later also recognized the achievement as the longest-standing video-game world record.
Rogers had previously said he put the car into second gear as the countdown timer reaches zero.
The problem was that TASers only managed to get the best possible time of 5.57...
On January 29, 2018, the Twin Galaxies administrative staff removed all of Todd Rogers records and banned him from participating in their competitive leaderboards, because many of his records lacked evidence and were impossible to do.
Like his time of 32.04 in Barnstorming, which is impossible to achieve even when all the obstacles are removed. Or his score of 1698 in Wabbit, when the game ends at 1300 points and the score only increase in increments of 5. Or Fathom where his score would take 325 hours to achieve. That is over 13.5 days...
The world record is 5.57 seconds which has been achieved by multiple players. That is crazy fast.
