In this chapter, we conclude "Book 1" with a quiet evening at Zoë and Reza's house; go through an enigmatic Interlude where we are introduced to the House Between Worlds, its tenants Magnus and Etta, and their toddler daughter Saga; and finally enter "Book 2", where Kian wakes up at the secret headquarters of the Resistance, meets some of its leaders and members, including the vengeance-craving Dolmari Likho and the awkwardly confused Zhid girl Enu, and is immediately enlisted into a test mission that will show whether he really intends to atone for his past or not.
