Are you baffled by brake traces? Dumbfounded by deltas? Are you looking for those final few tenths of a second to get you to the sharp end of the grid? We can help you with that: by using telemetry.

Telemetry in sim racing is data such as steering angle, speed and throttle and brake positions; values that can be logged or reproduced in real-time from a sim racing session. The key to improving your driving and lap times lies in interpreting this data.

But first, you’ll need the correct telemetry tool for your sim, with a few options on the market available to use free of charge, which our very own Piers Prior highlights.

Piers talks you through how to use data produced by your simulator to make you go faster, something he has vast experience of thanks to a successful karting career and a stint in the BRDC British Formula 3 championship. He's also pretty handy on a sim, too...
