Drone Ikuze (Alpha Gameplay)
Drone Ikuze (Alpha Gameplay)
Drone Ikuze is an arcade style combat flight game, except when it's not. Which is all the time because the core gameplay of Drone Ikuze doesn't involve actively shooting things. In Drone Ikuze, your missiles fire automatically, and all of your attention is on dodging and maneuvering your ship in a way that you can hit the enemy turrets without getting hit yourself.

My review/first impressions based on playing the alpha demo of Drone Ikuze:
The core gameplay of Drone Ikuze is pretty fun, but I think the game needs a little more in the way of gameplay variety or something of a story mode/campaign mode to really set itself out. Obviously, this gameplay footage is just from the alpha demo, and there are likely to be plenty of features added to the game to make the gameplay a little bit more engaging and also to polish up the visuals.
Some of the UI is currently unfinished, but there are parts of Drone Ikuze that look graphically fantastic. In particula,r the ship model of the player's space ship looks excellent. The animations for the aerial maneuvers are also great and make them a lot of fun to do. It's a good example of how animations can make the gameplay even more fun. Drone Ikuze also has a cool slow down time effect whenever you're about to get hit, which encourages you to make use of these maneuvers to avoid damage. It feels quite amazing when you get the timing just right.
