I had a really difficult experience my first time trying to go through Harvest Valley and Earthen Peak. The reason why was that I didn't realize that I was still in the Company of Champions covenant. If you ask me, it should have been more noticeable. Maybe something like every time you die, the Bonfire you respawn at sparkles in a unique way, or maybe all Bonfires get larger. It makes much more of a difference if you experience it yourself, rather than just saying "Here is a list of all the covenants and all of their symbols, now go memorize them all".
