You can also speed up this process by not using a panflute, instead place a source of heat nearby and let the beefalo take all the hits until clops hits the ground.
DISCLAIMER: Crystal Deerclops didn't hurt me (my Beefalo got hit instead), so it does counts as NO DAMAGE.
Be aware of:
-Deerclops should be away from the edges of the map.
-You need at least 50 Brightshade Bomb, you can bring an extra par or two in case you miss when tossing.
-If Crystal Deerclops is hit with a fire-related weapon during its reload animation (such as a Fire Staff or Fire Dart), it will fall to the ground for about three seconds, becoming vulnerable to attacks.
-Equip 20 boms when going against regular Deerclops, this way you avoid worring about looking at your inventory.
-DO NOT MOVE and let the beefalo tank both hits from regular Deerclops, if you move clops will too, therefore you are going to spend some Brightshade Bombs, and they're not cheap.
