Dual Universe - Deploying a Space Core 65 kilometres from a planet (Sorry No Sound)
Notes: Dual Universe is in beta and things might change about this process however, this video shows how to deploy a low orbit station on the 13th of November 2020.
Additionally I am not affiliated with the developer I am just a game patron who is enjoying the beta experience.

Firstly sorry for no sound, I have not used the recording software in a while and I forgot to tweak it while I was using headphones. I also hope that this video will inspire a real content creator into making a video on how to deploy a space core close to a planet, because I could not find a video showing this on the web.
Secondly, the Requirements to be able to deploy a Space Core close to a planet:
1) You need a Space Core to deploy.
2) Your ship needs an Emergency Button – Turn this on before you take off from where you start.
3) A ship stable enough to fly at slow speeds (0 – 10 km/h) at its current weight, when suspended at about 60 km distance from a planet. (60km distance is a safe number – I think)
4) Enough space deployments left to deploy the Space Core.
5) In addition, enough fuel for the flight.
This video shows my first (I did test and pick the core back up again about a minute before the start of this video) attempt at deploying a Space Core at close proximity to a planet. The actual deployment is quick and about 6 minutes and 17 second in to the video is where I manage to land my ship on the station. I have cut the building of the station out of the video because this is the same as building on the ground. I have left the flight from the station to the planet landing in real time (Speeding up the turn once in the atmosphere). This allows you to see what going down to the planet is like from a low station orbit.
Mistakes, since this was my first attempt mistakes were made!
First mistake and probably the most important to consider is that I worried about my ship flying off so did not really pick my spot and orientate the station properly. This resulted in my station being at a slant, which makes landing much harder since you have to account for planet gravity and station gravity separately.
The second mistake I have found is that I covered two walls in machinery however, the planets move so at times they will not always be visible from the original positions, which is one of the more important reasons for making a low-altitude station. However, the planet I am directly above will always stay in position.
(The other reasons to make these stations is to deploy a warp beacon and to make fuel/scrap etc. without heading down to a planet)
Finding and accessing my station: I have made the station publically accessible and there is a surrogate Pod to allow visitors. The name of the stations name is ‘Small Freeport’ and there are some usable containers that allow the manufacture of Fuel and Scrap that anyone can use (Hope someone tries them).
Anyway, I hope this video helps others out there who would like to deploy a low orbit station in Dual Universe.
Have fun
:)
