Here is an interesting game. Being made by a young man named José Henrique (who lives in São Paulo, Brazil), he is 24 years old (as of this post) and graduated in Digital Design. He has made a few games and this is one of them.

Duel Toys 2 is the sequel to Duel Toys. When DT2 was originally in development, it still had 8-bit style pixel art characters and the interface was a good deal like DT1. However, the concept was scrapped and now you see the DT2 here; a VASTLY redesigned game that uses various tools such as Multimedia Fusion 2.

The game has all sorts of crazy fighters (over 60) and the game still has a story mode where you navigate areas fighting duelist, getting points, and buying new toys. The protagonist is no longer Rique from DT1, but a 7 year old boy named Lucius...who is rather big for a 7 year old kid.

The basic idea of buying new toys and using them in battle is the same as DT1, but the game is very different in design. Firstly, the navigation of story mode is no longer done in the 3/4 overhead view from the first game. Now, you move from left to right, talking whenever a "face" icon is present. The game also has two different "styles"; Solar Lemon and Star Joy. Solar Lemon, for example, can perform air recovery from attacks, while Star Joy has a more powerful super move (usually) than Solar Lemon. Also, characters can only do certain moves when they are in a certain style, while other moves can be used regardless of style.

In essence, it's sort of like using 120+ characters, but some modes don't really change the character much. Still, each character has a different super move under Solar Lemon and Star Joy modes.

There are single duels, 2-person duels, and triple duels. The stage variety is...very interesting, as is the music. There's music from Justice League, Mortal Kombat, X-Men, Samurai Shodown and more.

It's still got a lot of bugs, but it is still in the BETA stage. It's got a simple fighting engine (think Pocket Fighter, with built-in starter combos), but it's a very good and FREE game.
