Timing starts with the first frame of motion after the initial loading screen. Timing ends with the first frame of the endgame cutscene. For the purposes of making this speedrun reasonable, the default game speed is used, but you can technically make this game run about three times faster if you want.

The other episodes are a fair bit longer than the first one, but there's still plenty of action. The fifth level here is one of the toughest, with far too many spots to mess up a jump or fall down awkwardly. Compared to bonesaw's run, the only major improvement is on the second level where you can jump to the keycard from the flying elevator device. Moon beam's only use is to finish off the boss quickly, but it's greatly appreciated.
