You know, I never knew it before I did this cover that Jeremy Soule did this soundtrack but it really makes sense. All of the music from this early 2000's game is just a rollercoaster of amazingly epic orchestral music matched only by The Elder Scrolls soundtrack. This is an extremely important song to me because it's one of the first video game tracks that I actually burned to a CD as a child to listen to wherever. It's just too great and it's such a perfect opener track to get you ready for the amazing adventure the is Dungeon Seige.
Last month was all about guitar intensive covers so this month is going to be all about trying to get power out of mixes of orchestration and metal, something that can only be awesome or down right atrocious and muddy. I just keep forgetting how difficult it is transferring something this orchestral into metal, there's always going to be elements missing since some things really only sound cool in an orchestra. That being said, I've had issues in the past with clarity with it comes to all of these instruments going on at the same time so it's about time I work on that. Dungeon Siege fans may hear a sliver of another great song from the soundtrack in the solo.
I played countless hours of this game as a child. I've got a song from another game I loved just as much around that time coming at you next week! Hope you enjoy!
