You know what, I'm just not going to say anything about the title. Just, what the fuck. Anyways, I LOVE this song. This is of course the music for the Bahamut and Ultima Weapon Battles and it just has a power that is unmatched especially for games of this generation. The song really lends itself to it's simplicity in a constant thudding bass drum and then mixes it up with some slightly different patterns on top. I thought taking a very very VERY slight djent feel to it would be fitting.
I tried to only spice it up in the arrangement very little, I didn't want this one to feel as song formaty as some of my other covers just to keep the constant descending feel of the track. I tried to keep the drums simple and only do rhythms rarely exceeding an 8th note to ensure it doesn't lose the heaviness. The real issue was keeping it from being muddy. When all the instruments were tracked this cover was so sludgy, mixing took a while. Spent a little time also creating my own orchestra hits and other effects with EastWest and used them in this cover! Anyways thanks for watching!
Next week I'm gonna take a quick break from the orchestra-y stuff and do a frequently suggested song from an old classic. :)
