Dungeons & Dragons News - D&D Creator Summit Did Not Go As Planned
Turns out that Wizards of the Coast's first Dungeons & Dragons Creator Summit did not go as planned, with the attendees upset about technical issues and controversies surrounding WoTC staff being unwilling to give anything other than vague answers to many questions surrounding the future of D&D.
Perhaps the most interesting to me was hearing of the impromptu Q&A session that spawned several hours of heated back and forth as attendees grilled Wizards of the Coast staff on inclusivity, business plans, the OGL fiasco, and beyond. But also the fact that they are suddenly abandoning the branding for One D&D and keeping the 5th Edition labeling just screams desperation to me.
Technical issues are not something I would wish on anyone, and having attended a lot of conventions over the years as a speaker, I cannot tell you how many times I've had to deal with those even from experienced crews. But yeah...you'll need to do better next year WoTC if you want the D&D Creator Summit to become a mainstay.
