Durian hyper-speed?
18On each side of the police station in Delfino Plaza, there’s a spot where walls join at such a small angle that durians get stuck bouncing between them. This was one of the first ways I found to get onto the Plaza rooftops without pressing A or hovering, as these spots made it very easy to dive onto a durian without it flying away.
But I just found out that when you waterslide into a durian in that spot, the durian vanishes completely! What I think happens is that the durian keeps accumulating speed every time it touches Mario, but the walls force it to stay in place and collide with Mario again… until it has enough momentum to clip through the walls. Then, because we’re pretty close to the edge of the map, it goes off the map and despawns.
If we could catch a durian in a waterslide like this somewhere else, we could possibly prevent the durian from going off the map and use it to grab the blue coins from the sewers without needing the Rocket Nozzle to get out.
