This level introduces the soldiers who are hit or miss on whether they're on the same side as the cultists. Sometimes they are, sometimes they are not. They're surprisingly weaker than the cultists and are best taken care of with the machine gun or lever action shotguns. If you weren't the best secret hunter, or doing a playthrough where you avoid all secrets, then this is where you'll get the mortar.
