Now you may be wondering do I ever get tired of this game, answer is: no.

But seriously this game has some really odd issues in GM2, everything that moves looks like it has stink clouds all over it and I came to conclusion that it's a result of this game using 1:1 pulldown to display mostly 30 fps gameplay (only menus and the timing minigame are at 60).

1:1 is only ever used if the game runs at 60 fps (when it really does show 60 frames the deinterlacer has no issues, most of the times). This game on the other had keeps switching between the 2 framerate but doesnt change the pulldown to 2:2, when going back to regular gameplay. Some other games like Tales of the Abyss use 60 frames in battles and menus while keeping the exploration at 30 and those are detected correctly and readjusted on the fly.

I can guess the reason why they dont change the pulldown:
For example, in Tales of the Abyss if I go to the menu while standing on a savepoint I can clearly see that the savepoint animation becomes interlaced for a split second.
Also they use white screens when transitioning to battles, probably to avoid visible interlacing from pulldown switching.
Same applies to Wild Arms 4 and 5 which use 30 frames for combination attacks while the whole rest of the game runs at 60.

Due to the way they staged the sequences where you do the timing minigames pulldown switching would be too distracting which is probably why they went for this.

Battles only show issues when things get flashy (elements become blurry ) outside of that it actually looks pretty good in battles)

GM1 as per usual has no issues just looks less sharp and more flickery (than a 30 frames game should really be).
I could have combined consecutive frames to get less flickery image but I wanted to first show how it looks like on TV.
