2Interview with actor, Dylan Hintz of the DC Stunt Coalition! Founded in 2011 by Dylan Hintz, The DC Stunt Coalition has become a growing force in the DC/MD/VA independent film and stage scene. Created as a training environment for local aspiring stunt and fight performers, it has grown into a community for anyone looking to learn and improve various action skills including Stage Combat, Screen Fighting, Gymnastics, Martial Arts, Tricking, and Parkour. The DCSC has provided fight choreography 101 workshops and live cosplay fight scenes for fan conventions such as Otakon, Awesomecon and Intervention. In early 2015, the DCSC made their full length stage debut with their original live action stunt show, "The Legend of Zelda: Gamers Against the Grimdark" to a roaring crowd of 1400 fans. Members of the DCSC have performed stunts in network TV shows and Hollywood films including TURN: Washington's Spies, Person of Interest, Banshee and more. They have also coordinated stunts, created fight choreography and performed action for local independent films such as THICK, Day of the Gun, Ninjas vs. Monsters, Deviance, Last Dog Standing and the upcoming post-apocalyptic webseries, Swords of Insurgency. Most recently, the DCSC created its own short film, the grind-house action-horror ride DEATH BLENDER, which rocked audiences at the 2015 Washington D.C. 48 Hour Film Project. With over 100 training members since its inception and dozens of projects under their belt, including a Super Bowl Commercial, it's hard not to find a local production featuring a member of the DC Stunt Coalition. Training sessions are located in Rockville, MD every Sunday evening, and anyone is welcome to give it a try.
