So the suits at Hudon decided to not release the first Bomberman on Nes in Europe because "Europeans only play soccer games, why pay Nintendos licensing fees if nobody buys the game? America loves guns and explosions so the will buy the game in a heartbeat".
To their surprise, the other European Bomberman versions and clones sold well enough, so they decided to release the second Bomberman game. And to prevent the Europeans from knowing that they missed the first game, they simply renamed it to Dynablaster.
...well, to be completely honest, the REAL reason the Bomberman series got renamed in Europe was because the IRA used real bombs to blow up real people in UK, and releasing a game named Bomberman where you place bombs to blow up things at that time would have been bloody stupid. That said, renaming games to cover up that the earlier games were not released in that region was a real thing, just look at the Final Fantasy series.
Fun Fact, the first numbered Final Fantasy game to be released in Europe was 7. Luckily Square decided to keep the same number worldwide this time, otherwise it would have been number 7 in Japan, 4 in NA and 1 in Europe. Now think about that mess.
As for the game, it is good.
