2Gameplay footage of Dynamite Deka (Die Hard Arcade Remaster) for the PS2. Released under the Sega Ages 2500 Series Vol. 26: Dynamite Deka for Japan only what we have here is the Sega Saturn version of Die Hard Arcade but given a new updated Remaster treatment.
The game also contained a Sega Saturn Edition of the game too which was an extremely nice added bonus.
The PS2 Remaster is a newly enhanced edition of the Sega Saturn version of the game with brand new updated graphics and a few additional features.
Originally released in Japan as Dynamite Deka the game would be changed to Die Hard Arcade for western releases and had the main characters (Bruno Delinger and Cindy Holiday) replaced with John McClane (Bruce Willis) and Kris Thompsen.
Working with Fox Interactive the game was changed to Die Hard Arcade for western releases and was focused heavily on the 1st movie. However in Japan the game had none of this connected to it and it was its own franchise. Things would be more complicated after this because after Dynamite Deka we were given Dynamite Deka 2 EX in Japan (Arcades) yet when the game was going to be ported to the Dreamcast Sega felt gamers might be confused by the game and instead reworked it from the ground up and released it as Dynamite Cop instead.
Technically you could claim Dynamite Cop is the 3rd in the series because it was worked on after Deka 2 EX and is rather different in level design, enemies, special moves, characters and plot.
Alot of work went into changing how the game was not just with its levels and looks but also by its bizarre style. Dynamite Deka 2 EX plays very differently from Dynamite Cop and is the best of the 3 games.
