Codemasters seemed to be jet set on signing a deal to be bought out by Take Two. The partner company to Rockstar games. However EA have turned the negotiation table upside down and are reportably planning on offering more than the 700K being offered by Take Two Games. If this is true and if this deal does indeed go through, we could see Codemasters joining the ranks of EA and possibly having some Codemasters Developers working alongside NFS developers, or even working on Need for Speed Games themselves. Codemasters also own several racing franchises such as the F1 racing franchise, Dirt, Project Cars and Grid as well. It would be very interesting to see how EA would treat these franchises as well.

EA seems to really love having as many sports franchises under it's belt as they can. And codemasters happen to be the developers behind the acclaimed F1 2020 game series so this franchise might be the catalyst for this decision. With several other successful franchises under their belt as well such as Dirt 5 and Project Cars 3, EA might be going big on this acquisition if it does indeed go through.
