This video shows you how to get the franklin badge. When you get to Happy Happy Village, there is a hotel like place at the southwest and a drugstore at the northeast. I highly recommend going to the hotel first. After you've done that. go to the drugstore and buy a sand lot bat.

Beware that there are Insane Cultist in Happy Happy village. They will either utilize a painting attack or call for help. Although, with the Hard Hat, they will NOT give you that much damage. Simply bashing them will give you success to these battles.

Now let's head to the northern cave. There, you'll find the cabin where Paula (Cassandra) is being held captive. If you talk to her, she'll give you the franklin badge. The franklin badge is required to defeat Carpainter.

After you get the franklin badge, leave the cabin and that cretin Pokey will be there. Fight his allies. You might want to use PSI VGames (Rockin) on the trio. Note that the PSI attack has fairly low accuracy on the Spiteful Crow.

After that, we head back to Happy Happy Village.
