Part of eastbound I-696 in Metro Detroit will be closed for two years starting at 9 a.m. on March 3, 2025, to allow MDOT to complete major reconstruction work. The closure spans from M-10 to I-75, with eastbound traffic detoured via M-10, M-8, and I-75, while westbound traffic remains open. Numerous ramps will be closed, and the project includes rebuilding the roadway and repairing 60 bridges, with completion expected in the fall of 2026.
