Cactus farms may seem kind of pointless if you think you need them to make some dye or decoration, but they are actually the best source of renewable xp. Cooking one in a furnace generates 1xp per, which is ten times as much as cobble stone. The main drawback is that they are relatively slow farms. This design is resource friendly using only a single hopper even if you build it from bedrock to build limit. It is a good early game farm to keep running in the background, and build up that cactus for when you need it.
