Easy kill Amygdala in Chalice dungeon Bloodborne
35The Amygdala in the chalice dungeon is one of the hardest fights in the game because in this dungeon you only get 50% life, and this boss can one shot you. The strategy where you stay behind or under him is way to dangerous in this version of th Amygdala fight, so I found another way. (I'm actually sure I'm not the only one, just couldn't find a guide with this strategy)
You need 2 things:
1 - Patience
2 - A weapon that can deal a lot of dmg with one attack
Also, if you have buffs like the Empty Phantasm Shell or fire paper, use it, especially in phase 2 of the fight.
I also had a cold bear next to me on the table which I was only going to drink after I beat him. Luckily, that was after 1 go :) Yesterday the boss killed me a couple of times though.
The strategy:
Stay in front of him and keep moving sideways. Stay well out of his reach though. There are a few windows of opportunity to get a hit in, but I chose to take it slow and steady, and only attack after he throws his arms straight ahead, at you. After this attack, he stays low to the ground, and you can hit his head. I only hit him once every time to get out of reach of his counter attack.
Whatever you do, don't dodge forward, he will hit you if you do.
Also, when he jumps, stay still. Yes, stay still. He won't ever hit you if you don't move, but will one shot you if you do and he hits you. In stead, stand still and charge your attack. As soon as he lands, hit R3 to target his head and get out through the front door. Again, don't dodge towards his legs, when you hit him while standing underneath him, he'll swing his arms under his body and he will ruin your day.
phase 2:
After you get him down to about 30% health, he'll rip his arms of his back and use them to increase his ranged attacks. Now is the time to get behind him and finish the fight easily. The second phase is the easy part. Just stay behind him, hitting his tail and legs. He'll jump, but this time he'll jump away from you. Go after him and repeat until you kill him. Just look out for his foot stomp which is easy to dodge.
