If you watch closely enough, you might've noticed a cut in the video from the second to the third snowy level, which I added because I died too many times hehe. I'm not sure why it sounds like there's static at certain parts of the video with the background music going off pitch. It doesn't sound like that in the game or the original video.

Notes:
- The game was made using our custom engine
- All art assets used were made by our artist groupmates
- All audio assets used were given by our professor, retrieved from Soundly, or recorded by us

Game Concept:
- Eclipse is a dungeon crawler action game with a 2.5D view
- The game has a Norse-mythology theme with astrological elements
- Players play as Sköll & Hati in one body, fighting their way through the snowy forests of Midgard
- They do this by splitting and recombining themselves, eventually defeating Odin and bringing about Ragnarok

Player:
- Hati is the white wolf and Sköll is the black wolf, and they start the game combined together
- When the wolves split, a tether will form between them that prevents Hati from moving too far away from Sköll
- Enemies between the tether will heal the player (stacks for each enemy)
- See "Game Controls" for more details on the player's abilities
- Both of the player's abilities cost fatigue, with the swap costing twice as much as the split/merge
- When the player uses an ability, their fatigue will increase, and when they use an ability while their fatigue is full, they will get stunned
- Fatigue decreases after a short while of not using any abilities
- The player's health (top) and fatigue (bottom) are represented by the 2 bars at the bottom of the screen

Enemies:
- Einherjar (singular Einheri) are skeletons that will move towards the player at an increased speed when the player gets close
- They will return to their original positions if the player goes out of aggro range
- Valkyries are winged female warriors that will move towards the player until they are within range to throw their spears
- Both enemy types spawn with 1 - 4 random black and white marks, with the leftmost mark being the largest, indicating that it is the only one that the player can currently break
- Once a mark is broken, if the enemy has no more marks, it will get destroyed, else its next leftmost mark will be available to be broken
- This means that the player must break the marks from left to right
- To break a white or black mark, Hati or Sköll respectively must dash through the enemy using either ability (split/merge or swap)

Environment:
- Bombs are scattered throughout the map and can be triggered upon contact with the player or the Valkyrie's spear, and detonates once the timer ends
- They deal damage to both the player and the enemies (by removing 1 mark of any colour)
- From the second level onwards, spikes are scattered throughout the map which damage the player upon contact
- In the third level, snow will periodically fall on the player, which will damage them if they fail to dodge

Blessings & Curses:
- Each level starts with 0 - 2 random blessings or curses to add replayability
- These apply throughout the whole level and may help or hinder the player in various ways
- At the start of the level, if the player did receive a blessing/curse, a popup will appear telling them what they got
- They can check their blessings & curses after dismissing the popup by pressing B
- We have 4 blessings & 4 curses as follows
- Blessing 1 [Glory in Death]: Einherjar have a 50% chance of spawning as a variant that explodes on death
- Blessing 2 [Greater Explosions]: Explosions deal twice as much damage to both the player and enemies
- Blessing 3 [Ravenous Appetite]: Killing an enemy will take away some fatigue from the player
- Blessing 4 [Adrenaline Rush]: The lower the player's health, the faster they will lose fatigue (up to twice as fast at 0% HP)
- Curse 1 [Assassins]: Enemies periodically turn invisible
- Curse 2 [Creeping Darkness]: The player's vision is significantly reduced
- Curse 3 [Vitality Drain]: Enemies have a 50% chance of gaining a mark when they land a hit on the player, up to a maximum of 4
- Curse 4 [Heavy Spears]: Valkyries' spears greatly reduce the movement speed of the player for a short while when they hit
