http://www.netbooknews.com Netbook News is in the second row of the Nvidia Day 2 keynote with Dr. Klaus Schulten from the University of Illinois. His keynote today is focused on computational biology. Before recent advancements in GPU technology computational microscopes could not have shown whole cell simulations.

Many of his presentation were very technical focused on DNA and photosynthesis to name a few. The most relevant presentation for the average joe was about e.coli. After you clean your kitchen counter the e.coli is dormant once you spill milk on the counter the e.coli becomes active. What we get to see in this demo is the transportation and metabolism of lactose in E. coli. So next time you are worried about getting sick now you'll know exactly what is going on.
