Ecsaform is a PlayStation 1 tactical RPG game from Japan. Recently translated by fans paul_met, aishsha, and Pennywise. Thanks guys.

Pro Tip: The Wait command allows the character to pause their turn and let other allies and enemies make their move. It costs 5 AP and doesn't refill your EP, but you can press R2 midway through another character's turn and resume your turn, effectively this is a way to counter attack. The End command refills your EP, which is useful because EP (evasion points) are regenerative health points on top of your regular HP..

Note: The battle grid consists of many small squares. The main characters each occupy 4 squares. I'm not sure why it is designed this way, but it adds more precision when moving and attacking compared to other strategy RPG games like Final Fantasy Tactics. Possibly there are smaller enemies that only occupy one square...
