42We all know about inverse difficulty - the problem where a game is hardest at the start, like XCOM was. But today I wanted to talk about hostile inverse difficulty, where the game is harder for newer players and easier for good players. Where the difficulty feels or actually *is* hostile to the novice player, making it ever harder for someone who makes mistakes. Or is just playing the game in a non-optimal way.
Note: I am aware in this game, leveling does not improve skills (unless with a feat). So, the issue won't be resolved with extra counters or anywhere you can train (for soft skills, like steal, electronics, etc). But it at least fixes it for combat skills, which is something.
It keeps me motivated to see your comments and I will also do my best to reply to all of them.
