Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes - Part Twenty
Norristar, Nowa, and the team successfully bury Snowpeak Pass to halt the Empire's advance, but Aldric anticipates their plan, and the Empire crosses the pass within days. With no aid from the Kenani, Norristar prepares for a desperate battle.
The Alliance holds strong, but Aldric's presence and Kenan's betrayal turn the tide. Sallas abandons his people, leaving Nowa to promise their defense. Amid the chaos, Nowa's team opens the gates to evacuate the citizens. As they flee, Maxim and Elektra choose to stay and fight. Indecisive at first, Nowa finds clarity when Garr urges him onward, leading them east to Twinhorne.
Yet another Imperial and Kenani assault, alongside Aldric's schemes, destroys all escape ships, leaving Nowa seemingly doomed. Just in time, Yulin and Skyd's shi'arc fleet arrives to rescue him. Nowa narrowly escapes and regroups, ready to fight another day.
Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is a 2024 role-playing game developed by Rabbit and Bear Studios and published by 505 Games. Helmed by Yoshitaka Murayama, the visionary behind Konami’s beloved Suikoden series, the game is widely considered a spiritual successor to those classic titles.
Yoshitaka Murayama, known for directing Suikoden and Suikoden II, led the development of Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. After leaving Konami in 2002, just before the release of Suikoden III, Murayama set out to bring his storytelling magic to a new venture, one that harkens back to the legacy of his earlier works.
The Eiyuden Chronicle project was initially funded through a successful Kickstarter campaign, surpassing its base funding goal of $500,000 within just three to four hours of launching on July 27, 2020. Ultimately, the campaign raised $4,541,481, with support from 46,307 backers, making it the third highest-funded video game in Kickstarter history, surpassed only by Shenmue III and Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
Hundred Heroes made an appearance at E3 2021, showcasing for platforms including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Initially slated for a worldwide release in October 2022, the game faced delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic and was then rescheduled to 2023. Ultimately, its release was confirmed for April 23, 2024, during the September 2023 Nintendo Direct presentation. As a prelude to this grand adventure, a prologue titled Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising was launched in May 2022 on the same platforms.
