EIZO has rolled out its new 24.1‑inch ColorEdge CG2400S, a monitor built for video production gurus. Priced at 195,800 yen (about $1,430 USD) and set for release on April 17, 2025, this display now supports HDR via both HLG for broadcast and PQ for streaming or film work. It’s engineered to meet professional standards, handling a wide color gamut (99% Adobe RGB and 98% DCI-P3) and featuring a mode that complies with BT.2020. This setup makes it a useful tool for tasks such as video editing, photography, and design without adding unnecessary frills. The CG2400S offers a resolution of 1,920 by 1,200 pixels and a contrast ratio of 1800:1. It includes a retardation film to cut down on backlight leakage when viewed from side angles, which helps keep the blacks deep and minimizes white floating. The monitor also comes with a 3D lookup table that lets you tweak specific RGB color channels individually. Additionally, a sync signal function automatically adjusts color settings based on the metadata from the incoming video feed. These technical features aim to deliver consistent color accuracy and ease the calibration process for video production gurus. Connectivity has been improved as well. Along with the standard DisplayPort and HDMI inputs, this monitor now has a USB Type-C port that handles both video output and a 70W power supply over one cable. This makes it simpler to set up a neat workspace and manage cables more efficiently. Overall, the CG2400S is designed to balance precise color management with practical connectivity.
