Elder Scrolls Legends Beta-first look and gameplay
3Hello all! So I was recently invited to take place in the ES Legends beta so I thought I'd give it a shot. I knew it was going to be a online TCG similar to Hearthstone and MTG. I wondered what differences and similarities the two would have in common.
The similarities are definitely there. The "summoning sickness", haste, guarding, on summon abilities, etc. The game adds new twists like runes that pop for every 5 health you lose, a two lane mechanic and more. The two lane setup is quite interesting and brings even more strategy to the game. Runes that pop for card draw help people potentially stay in a game that is spiraling out of control. Unlike Hearthstone, there is a definite plot to this game that reminds me of the free to play Magic games from years past. I think it is worth a look if you like card games but I have yet to run into the shop so I can't pass judgement on the real money conversions yet. Will it be pay to win? Will the story mode win people over? We'll see!
