For streamers and people who do multimedia type work, the Elgato Stream Deck can make things easier and more exciting, and reduce time spent navigating and trying to achieve a similar result that it can. With that in mind the price makes it worth it. For the casual user, it's probably too much.

I've been wanting something like this for years so personally I'm really happy to have one. I still need to learn how to use it to its full extent though, so be aware of that while watching the review.
