With new huge weapons we will have to squeeze some extra juice out of our power plants, i.e., huge plasma accelerator requires 2,630MW (large - 1,970MW), so I would expect one huge beam laser to be somewhere around same 2,2-2,6MW. Of course, if you have more than enough power then you don't need to downgrade anything but that should not be the case.

Thrusters effect our ship perfomance (speed, agility etc.) evenly so if we know how much faster ship is before downgrading then we can easily apply that to any other stat.

Downgrading from A7 to D7 will result only 5% perfomance loss but also free almost 2,3MW for use on huge weapon or anything else.
